Well, it seems that we've hit another sleeping milestone. They were sleeping through the night way back at 2-3 months old... with 5 or 6 hours at a stretch and it kept getting better to 10 or more hours a night. By 6 months though, they quit and started waking up again. Off and on we've gotten sleep over the past few months, but this week has been wonderful!
We've been striving to get them in bed earlier... and at a more regular time. We try for bathtime around 6:30pm or 6:45pm... then PJs and nursing and in bed by 7pm to 7:30pm. So far so good. Some nights they sleep from 7p to 7a! woo hoo!! Last night was a little crazy, at 10:30pm I wanted Jerry to feed Jessa the rest of a bottle of milk he'd warmed up... but Jessa didn't want it, so he gave it to Davis. Well, then they both sort of woke up. We settled them back down and back to sleep only to realize that it was COLD... and we hadn't put their sleep sacks on them... ugh... well, we attempted to do that while they slept... to no avail, they woke a little but did go back to sleep relatively well. Jessa slept through until we woke her at 7:15a and Davis did wake up at 6am... I nursed him quickly and he slept until 7a again.
I'm trying to track if the naps they get during the day help or hurt... if two 2-hour naps are too much? or if they forgo a nap does that mess it up... one of the books says that "sleep begets sleep"... so they need to be nicely rested to fall asleep and stay asleep. We'll see.
For now, they are great! The usually sleep for their morning nap from 9 or 9:30am to 11 or 11:30a. Then the afternoon is a little more sporadic... but usually 2p to 3:30p or so...
