Developmental updates... 24 to 27 months

I just realized I didn't do a recap of their 2 year well visit.

They have come up on the "scale" for their weights since 21 months:

Davis was 24.8 lbs at 24 mo. and 26.4 lbs at 27 mo. (20 percentile)
Jessa was 23.4 lbs at 24 mo. and 24.2 lbs at 27 mo. (10 percentile)

Height: Davis was 34 1/4" at 12 mo and 35" at 27 mo. (40 percentile)
Jessa was 33 1/2" at 12 mo and 34 1/4" at 27 mo. (40 percentile)

Talking: Right around 24 months I tried to count the number of words the kids were saying, and Davis definitely talks more, but both were over 100 words... though they weren't stringing words together for sentences, I know the doctor asked and I said, well sure they say "thank you" but its not like you say either word separately. Seems that most 24 month olds would have been saying 2 word phrases for a while, but the doctor said to not be concerned unless they weren't stringing phrases together by 2 1/2 yrs old...

During this 27th month both Davis and Jessa are really starting to string together phrases. It started with just saying "outside Daddy" when daddy was outside mowing the lawn... and now they are really saying multiple words together. Even bossing us around. Last night Jessa told Grandpa "papa couch"! when he was sitting on the floor... she wanted him to sit up there!

Both kids are pretty cute with the whole modeling behaviors with dolls, sometimes Jessa will want to eat with her dolly on the table and put the bib on her too! They both love to run and play and will go non stop if you let them! They both will take a wonderful 2 to 3 hr nap during the day, though now at 27 months mommy is figuring out that during the week we need to keep the nap closer to 2 hrs and have them wake before 3:15p so that they'll have 4 hours of awake before bedtime to become tired again.

Potty training, we started close to 24 months just doing a little potty training after naps etc. They have really progressed and just the past couple of weeks have done great at home. We still do cloth diapers for sleeping at naps and night, but otherwise we're really trying to just do underwear or "wear" as they call it. Just this week we went to waffle night at Grandma & Grandpa's house in just "wear"! They made it through the car ride there and back and both peed 3 times each in the potty while there! Yay! So Mommy decided to do church today! We skipped church and just went to Sabbath School and it was really good. Both kids peed in the toilet at church when we got there, and then Daddy had to take Davis one time to go pee, they made it in time for not getting wet, but the 2nd time Davis didn't make it in time... that's ok, that's how we learn! Jessa made it the whole time through the 1 hr program and peed at the end in the toilet. We are so proud of the progress we've made!!

They are able to just about put their clothes on and we're trying to teach them how they can figure out what the front and backs of clothes are... sometimes they get on the wrong way. Every day is pretty much some new adventure and we love it!
