Well, mommy decided to knock cribs off the list too... Daddy converted our cribs to toddler beds on Wed. May 19th. It has been an interesting week... didn't start out so great as we fell asleep on our way home from our playdate and then the intended nap was pretty much history!
Bedtime the first night was a complete disaster too! we just kept jumping up and down, and running all around the room and getting in and out of bed... oh my, mommy wasn't happy!
Friday night around 2am Jessa screamed out! Mommy came running and saw she wasn't in bed... Jessa had rolled out of bed or something and she'd gotten under the changing table and then pushed the drawer out and was trying to stand up under the changing table... she was caught in the cavity of the table... Mommy had to pull the table forward for Jessa to get out to the side then she had to lift Jessa out of the corner of the room. Davis just slept through the 4 minutes of crying like a champ!
Sunday there was no nap to speak of during the day, then we had Missy Lou's (mommy's mom) birthday party... we were champs and had lots of fun. Aunt Kathleen showed us how their dog Kona went to bed in her bed all by herself. When we got home, mommy talked to us about how Kona was a big dog and went to bed by herself... we kept saying "Koa night night"... we actually went to sleep pretty quick for mommy that night.
Our nanny got us to bed by 2:30p on Monday, she thought we were hilarious, running between beds and she tried to keep from laughing! Monday night mommy added a fun routine to bedtime, we got our teddy bears and tucked them into a basket for bedtime. We gave them hugs and kisses and said "night night"... This was fun and very helpful for us.
Tuesday was another disaster for naps... sorry mommy! Wednesday Jessa started her nap before 2:30p and Davis was still awake, but withing an hour he was quiet. Mommy was able to work for 3 hours and finally went in a little before 5:30p and found Jessa in her crib asleep still and looked for Davis, but he wasn't in his crib... she looked more and finally saw him on the hardwood floor by the door... fast asleep! Silly Boy!
Thursday (5/27/10) our nanny got us to sleep before 1:30p - she is a miracle worker! Mommy should take lessons from her! tonight we got to sing to our cd, and tuck our bears in bed, then mommy spent 20+ minutes putting us back in bed and helping us know it was night night time... but she gave up. Daddy came in for 2 minutes and we decided he meant business and we fell asleep!
The main reason mommy is trying to give up cribs so "soon" is that we're going on vacation in less than 2 mnonths and she doesn't want to get blindsided on the trip!
